The Broadlands Archives are one of the foremost collections in the University of Southampton Library. Centred on the Temple (Palmerston), Ashley, Cassel and Mountbatten families, 4,500 boxes of documents give wide coverage of politics, diplomacy, literary and cultural affairs over four hundred years. The collection is crucial for understanding Britain’s place in the world.
Our fundraising campaign launched in Novemeber 2009, to secure the Archives at the University, has now reached its target following a £1,993,760 grant from the National Heritage Memorial Fund. Read more
